Native American Heritage Village

Indian tour guide

The Heritage Village is currently not open to the public. Please check back in the future for updates.

The Indian Center's Heritage Village is a living museum, an accurate replica of 1850's Indian village life.

The Native American Heritage Village is an important addition to the Mid-America All-Indian Center complex. It represents the hard work of individuals from tribal elders to concerned citizens, all wishing to preserve the culture and history of the Native American people.

As you walk the paths of Heritage Village, the sounds of the Big and Little Arkansas Rivers flowing to either side and the prairie wind rustling through the trees overhead, you can catch a glimpse of what village life was like for the people who first lived in this area - the Kiowa, the Cheyenne, the Wichita, and the Sioux.
